A 25-year-old man has died following a drive-by shooting in Brixton, south London, prompting a police murder investigation. The Metropolitan Police were called to Coldharbour Lane at 1:14am on Saturday after reports of multiple gunshots. Keanu Taylor was rushed to the hospital but later died. Three other men aged 21, 47 and 70 were also taken to the hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening or life-changing. No arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo said: “Our thoughts are with Keanu’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. This was a shocking act of violence which has had a devastating impact on those involved and the local community. I want to reassure residents that we are working urgently to identify and apprehend those responsible.” Police are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.
Scene Searches Continue
On Saturday evening, officers were seen searching a grassy area outside the Southwyck House estate near Coldharbour Lane, where the shooting took place. The local community remains shaken by the incident.
Local Reaction
An estate resident said the shooting may have erupted during a barbecue on the green space near the estate. Moh John, a 45-year-old supermarket worker nearby, said he offered shelter to frightened people who ran into the shop following the gunfire. John reported keeping the shop door locked for a time to ensure safety.
