Man Found On Fire in Chessington Sparks Police Probe

The Met Police have launched a serious investigation after a man was found ablaze in the early hours of Thursday on Bribleway Path, Barwell Lane, Chessington.

Emergency Services Rush to Grim Scene

Police, fire crews, and paramedics were called to the scene around 1am following reports that a person was on fire. A cordon was swiftly set up as officers scrambled to understand what happened.

Victim Identified as Missing Man in Early 20s

A source revealed the victim may have been reported missing earlier, with police actively searching for him prior to the incident. Unfortunately, despite their rush, emergency teams declared the man dead at the scene.

Police Say No Suspicious Circumstances, Coroner Informed

“Police were called at 11:11pm on 7 December following concerns for the welfare of a man reported missing from Chessington.

At around 01:00hrs emergency services attended Barwell Lane.

The man, aged in his early 20s, was found deceased. His next of kin have been informed.

At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.

A scene was in place and has since been closed.” – Met Police Spokesperson
