Ilford Driver Fined After Lewisham Crash
Muhammad Shanbaz Ghulam, 59, from Ilford, has been slapped with a £166 fine after a careless driving blunder on Lewisham High Street.
Careless U-Turn Sparks Collision
On October 31, 2022, Ghulam was behind the wheel of his Toyota Auris when he tried to make a U-turn. He failed to spot a bus hurtling towards him in the opposite lane, causing a crash. The impact was serious enough for Ghulam to be rushed to hospital by ambulance with injuries.
Penalty: Fine, Points, and Costs
At Bromley Magistrates’ Court on July 13, Ghulam pled guilty to driving without due care and attention. He now faces a £166 fine, £110 in costs, and 5 points on his licence.
