Peterborough Park Shooting Drug Dealer Locked Up!
Gunman Caught After Violent Central Park Blow-Up
Eighteen-year-old Hamdard Khan sparked chaos when he fired a gun during an argument in Peterborough’s Central Park in the early hours of 9 March last year. Police scrambled to the scene after reports of gunfire, finding a folding lock knife and five spent bullet casings.
CCTV Cracks the Case – Drugs and Weapons Seized
Sharp-eyed CCTV footage named Khan as the shooter, leading officers to raid his home on Thistlemoor Road in New England, Peterborough. The search uncovered a haul including cocaine and heroin valued at £1,310, over £400 cash, 60 blank firing rounds matching those fired in the park, a machete, and an extendable baton.
Trouble Doesn’t End: More Violence While on Bail
Even on court bail, Khan couldn’t stay clean. On 26 November, he and 23-year-old Rihaem Khan were caught in a vicious street brawl on Geneva Street, Peterborough. The fight saw wood pieces used as weapons, a knife waved about, and Rihaem filmed chucking punches and hurling a brick. Two people suffered minor injuries, with one needing hospital treatment for a head cut.
Justice Served: Jail for Hamdard, Community Service for Rihaem
Hamdard Khan pleaded guilty to drug offences and affray. Last Friday (13 March), Cambridge Crown Court sentenced him to 26 months behind bars. Rihaem Khan, with no fixed address, admitted affray and was handed 200 hours of unpaid community work.
