Drug Dealer Busted Over Dodgy Ticket at West Croydon
Jerome Alexander Simpson-O’Conner, 31, was stopped at West Croydon station on October 2, 2025, for a dodgy train ticket. What seemed like a routine check quickly exploded when officers found him carrying Class A drugs.
Police Chase Ends in Arrest
At around 4:15pm, Simpson-O’Conner stepped off a train and tried to bolt from the station. Officers from the British Transport Police, Metropolitan Police, and Surrey Police were already carrying out a sting targeting drugs and weapons. When they stopped him, he got hostile and made a run for it — but was swiftly tackled to the ground.
During the tussle, Simpson-O’Conner dropped a bundle of Class A drugs. Police also seized two mobile phones from him.
Illegal Stash Found in Multiple Homes
Arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, Simpson-O’Conner’s troubles deepened when officers searched a related property. There, they found a tenancy agreement for a second address.
The second home search uncovered nearly 15 grams of crack cocaine and over 12 grams of heroin hidden inside a shoe. Officers also found weighing scales, a lock knife, and five more mobile phones — one even advertising drugs.
Jailed for Nearly Six Years
Simpson-O’Conner stayed silent during interviews but later pleaded guilty to dealing Class A drugs. On December 23, he was slammed with a hefty five years and eight months behind bars.
“Simpson-O’Conner tried to frustrate us at every turn — attempting to escape, refusing to say anything, and hiding his true address,” said Sergeant Julian Mason from BTP’s County Lines Taskforce. “However, our officers, working closely with partners including the CPS, secured this tough sentence.”
“The supply of Class A drugs brings violence and misery to communities, often exploiting vulnerable people. I hope prison time forces him to face up to the harm he’s caused.”
“I also want to praise the exceptional work of all officers, staff, and partner agencies involved.”
