A drug dealer has been locked up after police spotted his suspiciously parked car in Tunbridge Wells.
Suspicious Driver Caught Red-Handed
On Tuesday 25 July 2023, plainclothes officers were patrolling Harmony Street, Rusthall, when they noticed a man sitting alone in a Nissan parked in an odd spot. The car was tucked away in a remote area far from homes, shops, or popular dog walking routes.
When officers approached, the nervous driver claimed he was waiting for his girlfriend but couldn’t remember where she lived. The man, identified as Justin Kola, was detained and searched. Police found 23 wraps of 123 drugs in his possession.
Dealer Gets 20 Months Behind Bars
Kola was sentenced on Thursday 7 December to 20 months in prison for drug dealing. This comes as part of a crackdown on drug supply in the Tunbridge Wells area.
No Let-Up on Drug Crime
Sergeant Ed Kavanagh from the Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Task Force said:
“This sentence is just the latest of several recent successful convictions of drug dealers who have tried to target Tunbridge Wells. It shows how effective our officers are at catching offenders, many of whom travel from other areas thinking we’re an easy target. I want to reassure residents that we’ll continue to deal firmly with anyone involved in drug supply – there will be no let-up.”
