Police swooped on a Bromley site in Orpington at dawn on Wednesday, 9 September, uncovering a cache of weapons and stolen property. The Metropolitan Police executed warrants on Star Lane, deploying hundreds of officers in a major operation.

The air weapons are now under testing. Only those with self-contained gas cartridges are banned under the Firearms Act; others may be legal but require a certificate depending on power.
Seven Arrested Amidst Allegations of Stolen Goods and Ammunition
Seven suspects were arrested on charges including possession of criminal property, stolen goods handling, and burglary. Two individuals at the scene are under support from the Met’s Modern Slavery Team.
Commander Kyle Gordon, leading the operation, said: “Every firearm we seize is one less weapon in the hands of criminals. Our officers, from local teams to specialist units, are committed to making London’s streets safer.”
How the Huge Raid Unfolded
The raid stemmed from intelligence gathered by the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team. It involved Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officers, Territorial Support Group, Dog Support Unit, and specialist search teams, backed by dozens of local officers.

- 19-year-old man: handling stolen goods and prohibited ammunition; bailed.
- 30-year-old man: burglary suspicion; charged for possessing air weapon while prohibited; bailed.
- 59-year-old man: handling stolen goods; no further action.
