On the evening of Sunday, January 15, 2023, patrolling officers spotted an uninsured Ford Transit at 9.54 p.m. What followed was a nail-biting pursuit. Mills repeatedly slammed on his brakes, attempting to reverse-ram the pursuing police car — a brazen move that put lives at risk.
Police Stop Mills with Stinger Device
Kent Police finally brought the chase to a halt using a stinger device, stopping Mills’ van on a grass verge in Capstone Road.
Multiple Charges Filed Against Mills

- Driving while disqualified
- Driving without insurance
- Failure to stop
Mills, who lives on Meadside Walk, Chatham, was arrested the next day and charged. He pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 17, 2023.
His sentencing is now scheduled for Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
