Met Police Spread Easter Joy with 1,400 Eggs for Sick Kids

On Easter Monday, London’s Met Police handed out over 1,400 Easter eggs to children in five major hospitals across the city. Great Ormond Street, St Thomas’, St George’s, St Mary’s, and Kings College hospitals all received sweet treats to brighten up the little patients’ Easter weekends.

The generous donation came from the Met’s Violent Crime Taskforce. Officers teamed up with colleagues from Operation Venice, delivering the chocolate eggs during their patrols to bring some festive cheer straight to hospital wards.

Operation Easter Smile Brings Comfort

“Many children in hospitals were sadly unable to spend time with their loved ones over the Easter weekend,” said Sergeant Dan Nelson, who organised the initiative, dubbed ‘Operation Easter Smile’. “I hope this brought a smile to those children’s faces, and the hardworking NHS staff who are caring for them.”

Sergeant Nelson also thanked all the officers involved for their efforts in making Easter a little sweeter for vulnerable kids around London.
