Eastbourne Man Locked Up for 41 Months in Major Drug Bust
Peter Pollard’s Drug Supply Scheme Crumbles
Peter Pollard, 49, from Eastbourne, has been slapped with a 41-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to serious drug offences. Initially denying involvement in supplying cannabis, crack cocaine, and heroin, Pollard changed his tune mid-trial at Hove Crown Court.
Police Nabbed Him After Anti-Social Behaviour Tip-Off
The drama unfolded on September 9, 2021, on Langney Road following anti-social behaviour complaints. Officers caught Pollard exchanging something with another man. A search revealed he was carrying cocaine, heroin, and £400 in cash. Police also seized scales and a craft knife from his car, all evidence pointing to drug dealing.
Second Arrest Seals His Fate
Despite being charged, Pollard was arrested again on June 11, 2022, for possession with intent to supply. He was held in custody, leading to more charges and ultimately him pleading guilty.
Police Praise Quick Action in Cleaning Up the Streets
“Peter Pollard was found in possession of Class A drugs that he intended to sell on into our communities,” said Inspector Rachel Barrow of the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team. “The quick thinking of our officers responding to anti-social behaviour led to another drug dealer being removed from our streets.”
“We remain committed to protecting the people of Sussex from the harm drugs cause. We work with partners to stop drug supply while helping vulnerable users through support and enforcement.”
