Gun Attack Plotter’s Jail Term Hiked to 24 Years
Edward Little, 22, who planned a gun attack in London’s Hyde Park, has had his prison sentence slammed from 16 to 24 years minimum. The Brighton man was caught trying to buy a firearm with £5,000 to target Christian preacher Hatun Tash in September 2022.
From Queen’s Funeral to Hyde Park: Terror Targets Revealed
At his Old Bailey trial, Little shockingly revealed he once considered attacking the late Queen’s funeral in Westminster before settling on Hatun Tash. A Muslim convert, he admitted to preparing terrorist acts but initially skipped his sentencing hearing.
Criminal Past and Gang Ties
- Little’s rap sheet is long: 14 offences including robbery, knife possession, and drug dealing since 2017.
- Three gang members linked to the plot — Reis Forde (27), Caleb Wenyeve (21), and Tyler King (21) — were jailed after admitting they conspired to supply Little with a gun.
- Forde got 13½ years, Wenyeve 12, and King nearly 11 years behind bars. They claimed ignorance of Little’s terrorist plans.
Law Cracks Down on Terror Threat
The increased sentence came at the same court under the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 2000, allowing judges to reassess in light of new evidence. Authorities continue to clamp down hard on terror plots and conspiracies, stressing vigilance to keep the public safe.
