Investigation Deepens; Hospital Drama Unfolds

An Essex Police superintendent has authorised an additional 24 hours in custody for the man due to the complexity of the case. Any further detention will require magistrates’ approval.

Forensics teams were spotted leaving the hospital carrying several bags of the suspect’s clothing as investigations continue.

Essex Police Refer Itself to IOPC Over Past Contact

In a rare move, Essex Police have voluntarily referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). This follows previous interactions between the force and the suspect linked to the December 2 collision in Willingale Road, Loughton.
