Ex-Met Cop Faces Court Over Teen Misconduct Claims
A former Metropolitan Police officer is in hot water and set to appear in court this October, accused of misconduct in public office linked to an alleged inappropriate relationship with a teenager.
Che Homersham Charged Over Teen Relationship
PC Che Homersham, 36, once part of the North-West basic command unit, stands accused of striking up an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl between December 2018 and January 2019. The troubling claims emerged from his official interactions with the teenager during police duties.
Anti-Corruption Probe Brings Charges
- The Met’s Anti-Corruption Unit launched an investigation in June 2023 after a mandatory conduct referral.
- The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) took charge, wrapping up its inquiry by May 2024.
- Findings were sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, which authorised formal charges against Homersham.
First Court Date Set
Homersham’s first appearance is booked for October 30 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. The IOPC is staying tight-lipped on any further comments as the case unfolds.
