The family of Amie Gray, a 34-year-old fitness coach and postal worker, is devastated after an inquest confirmed she was repeatedly stabbed at Bournemouth’s Durley Chine Beach. The tragic attack happened late on Friday night, shattering the community’s sense of safety.
Suspect Arrested and In Custody
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Croydon on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in custody as Dorset Police lead the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with their inquiries.

“We will miss her so much, and our hearts are forever broken,” said Amie’s mother, Sharon Macklin.
Amie’s wife, Sian, added: “Thank you all for your support and for respecting our privacy. It’s a difficult time for everyone.”
Inquest Confirms Cause of Death
The inquest at Bournemouth Coroners Court was brief but grim. The post-mortem confirmed Amie died from multiple stab wounds. Coroner Rachael Griffin reported police were alerted at 11:42pm on May 24, with Amie pronounced dead 38 minutes later. The inquest was adjourned until December 11 as the police investigation continues.
