Douglas ‘Dougie’ Joyce, a 35-year-old bare-knuckle boxer from a famous traveller family, has been locked up for 19 months after a savage assault on a 78-year-old man inside a Manchester pub. CCTV footage shows Joyce ruthlessly pummelling the elderly victim in the pub’s back room, leaving him seriously injured and bleeding.
Traveller Family Ties and Online Fame
Joyce is no stranger to the spotlight. Hailing from the well-documented Joyce family featured in the Amazon hit The Joyce Family Documentary, Dougie has also built a sizeable following on YouTube, boasting over 26,000 subscribers. His channel features training clips and fight promotions that fuel his bare-knuckle reputation.
Pub Violence: Rings and Ruthless Punches
The attack was brutal. After trailing the elderly man through the pub, Joyce launched a ferocious barrage of punches, his large gold ring adding to the damage. The victim was left battered and bleeding as Joyce towered over him, shouting and pointing aggressively. It was a chilling display of violence caught on camera.
Lavish Lifestyle Crashes with Prison Sentence
Joyce recently tied the knot in a £60,000 ceremony at Manchester’s Gorton Monastery, featuring four Rolls Royces and a bespoke £12,000 Calla Blanche wedding dress. He even planned a helicopter arrival, only to be halted by venue rules. Clips from the extravagant wedding flooded his YouTube channel, highlighting his flashy public persona.
Crime and Punishment: Joyce Faces the Music
Following his guilty plea for grievous bodily harm, Manchester Crown Court sentenced Joyce to 19 months behind bars. Detective Constable Natalie Hollows slammed him as an “aggressive and violent man.” The judge’s verdict also hit Joyce’s bare-knuckle fighting career hard. As founder and president of 3D Fight Club, Joyce’s future in the ring is now uncertain.
Adding to the family drama, Joyce’s father John, 63, was handed an 18-month community order for his part in the attack.
Police React to Shocking Attack
This was a serious and unprovoked attack causing significant trauma to an elderly man,” said Greater Manchester Police. “We welcome the court’s decision and hope this sentence will force Mr. Joyce to reflect on the consequences of his violent actions.”
