Faversham Man Locked Up for Brutal Head Stomp Attack
A Faversham thug has been slammed with a 14-year jail sentence after stomping on a man’s head in a savage assault. Lewis Shaw, 28, didn’t stop there – he also battered his victim with a metal pole and a baseball bat in a shocking early-morning attack.
Savage Street Attack Leaves Victim Fighting for Life
On the morning of 16 March 2019, Shaw unleashed a terrifying assault on Larksfield Road. He smashed the victim unconscious with a pole and bat, then rampaged on, stamping and kicking him in the head, causing serious, life-changing injuries. After the brutal attack, Shaw jumped into a car and fled the scene.
Not Just One Crime – More Mayhem with Knife and Hammer
Shaw’s violence didn’t end there. Later the same day, he turned up at a property in Whiting Street armed with a knife and hammer. He smashed a kitchen window with the hammer before fleeing again.
Justice Served – Dangerous Weapon Off the Streets
Lewis Shaw, formerly of Market Street, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, two affray charges, and knife possession. A jury cleared him of attempted murder. On 5 November 2019, at Maidstone Crown Court, he was sentenced to 14 years and three months behind bars, with a requirement to serve at least two-thirds before parole due to his dangerousness.
Detective Constable Rebecca Kemp of Swale CID slammed Shaw’s brutal attack as “violent and appalling,” emphasising the victim’s “devastating and life-changing injuries.” She added: “Thankfully, this significant custodial sentence means he is now off the streets and will no longer pose a threat to society.”
Upon release, Shaw faces an additional five years on licence, ensuring close supervision to keep the public safe.
