Man in His 50s Killed in Ballam Road Hit-and-Run

Tragedy struck Ballam Road last night as a pedestrian was mowed down by a Ford Mondeo. Police were called at around 9pm on Thursday, April 1st following the serious collision.

The victim, a local man in his 50s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed.

Road Closed for Six Hours

Ballam Road was shut for six hours while officers carried out a full collision investigation.

Sgt Martin Wilcock of Tactical Operations said: “This collision has very sadly resulted in a man losing his life. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the victim shortly before to come forward.”

“We’re especially keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage.”

Red Peugeot Debris Raises Questions

Police also found debris from a red Peugeot at the scene. Although CCTV suggests the car wasn’t involved in the crash, officers want to trace its origin and why it was nearby.
