Cop Hurt in Hit-and-Run on Coulter Road
Serious Injuries After Speeder Rams Officer
At 3:16pm on Friday 26 January 2024, a police officer on foot was hit while conducting speed checks on Coulter Road, near Hedgers Way. The officer suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital and has since been discharged to recover at home.
Silver Vauxhall Vectra Fleeing the Scene
The culprit vehicle is described as a silver Vauxhall Vectra. Later that day, police found a matching car abandoned in Hornash Lane, Shadoxhurst. It is believed the car sped down Tally Ho Road soon after the crash.
Five Arrested, One Still in Custody
Police arrested five local suspects: three men aged 19, 23, and 37, plus two more aged 19 and 32. The 23-year-old remains in custody while the others have been bailed as investigations continue.
Police Hunt Witnesses to Crack Case
On Friday 2 February, Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate officers returned to Coulter Road to interview locals and gather tips in a bid to solve the case.
