Knife-Point Robbery Attempt Foiled in Swanscombe

A man has been slapped with three charges after trying to rob a shop in Swanscombe– and failing.

Knife Wielded During Morning Robbery Attempt

At around 9.50am on Wednesday, 7 October 2020, the suspect stormed a shop on Swanscombe Street, threatening a victim with a knife. He demanded money, but walked away empty-handed as nothing was handed over and no items were stolen.

Police Nab Suspect Days Later

Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad launched an investigation and arrested 29-year-old Caine Borrow from Keary Road, Swanscombe, on Monday 12 October.

Three Charges and Court Appearance

  • Attempted robbery
  • Assault
  • Possession of an offensive weapon in public

Borrow appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 13 October. He’s been remanded in custody and is due back at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday 10 November.
