Four Men Charged After East London Shootout

Four men have been hit with serious charges following a terrifying firearms incident in east London.

Serious Charges Unveiled

Lekan Akinsoji, 20, Nathaniel Lewis, 22, Darnell Joseph-Newill, 21, and Troy Ifill, 21, face three counts of attempted murder each. They’re also charged with possession of a shotgun and possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life. On top of that, each is accused of carrying dangerous weapons—a zombie knife and an axe.

  • Akinsoji (no fixed address) and Lewis (Earlham Grove, E7) are also charged with possession of a firearm following a suspended sentence.
  • Ifill (Torrens Square, E15) faces extra counts for possession of a firearm whilst prohibited and an additional knife possession charge.

Incident Details and Court Appearance

The charges stem from an event in Leytonstone and Forest Gate on the evening of Thursday, 26 July. All four men are due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 30 July.
