Teen Asylum-Seeker Brutally Attacked in Hastings Takeaway Rage
An 18-year-old Sudanese asylum-seeker faced a shocking assault after daring to complain about pay and working conditions at Hastings’ Balti Hut on Queens Road.
Chased Through Town and Beaten with Metal Bar
The victim threatened to report his employers to the Government over poor pay and appalling conditions. In retaliation, Mominur Rahman went on a violent rampage, chasing him through Hastings town centre towards the railway station while repeatedly smashing him with a metal bar.
Family Gang Join In, Leave Teen Defenceless and Seriously Injured
At the station, Mominur wasn’t alone. His brothers Shahnur and Ridwanur Rahman, plus their father Siddiqur, joined in the savage attack. The teen was kicked, stamped on—including brutal blows to the head—and punched while lying helpless on the ground.
“The attack only stopped after railway staff bravely intervened and got the victim to safety,” police reported.
