Four Jailed Over Extreme Right-Wing Terror Plot Exposed in Undercover Sting
Four extremists have been locked up after a secret police operation uncovered their sinister plot to spread hate and violence online. Daniel Wright, Liam Hall, Stacey Salmon, and Samuel Whibley were convicted of a total of 18 offences at Sheffield Crown Court on March 29th.
Undercover Cop Unmasks Hate-Fuelled Chat Group
The court heard how the gang used a private online chat to share far-right propaganda, indoctrinate others, and back violence to push their twisted agenda. The trial, which ran for eleven weeks, revealed their disturbing plans to fuel hatred and chaos.
3D-Printed Gun and Explosives Found in West Yorkshire Raids
Police swooped in May 2021, seizing a partly built 3D-printed firearm from Hall and Salmon’s Keighley home. Experts confirmed the weapon could have been deadly if completed. Officers also recovered other weapons, chemicals, explosive-making guides, and extremist materials from the suspects’ properties across West Yorkshire and Anglesey.
Prison Sentences Handed Down for Terror Offences
- Daniel Wright, Keighley: Seven counts including illegal manufacture of a firearm. He was sentenced to 12 years behind bars plus serious restrictions after release.
- Liam Hall, Keighley: Guilty of manufacturing and possessing an illegal firearm. He got 6 years in prison with a Serious Crime Prevention Order set for release.
- Stacey Salmon, Keighley: Convicted of possessing an illegal firearm, sentenced to 3 years.
- Samuel Whibley, Menai Bridge: Found guilty of eight terrorism offences including encouraging terrorism and distributing terrorist propaganda. He received 10 years and faces long-term restrictions post-release.
“This case highlights the seriousness of these crimes and the determination of police to root out extremists,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Peter Craig, head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
“We work tirelessly to identify those with extremist mindsets who threaten the safety and unity of our communities. Anyone involved in terrorism or violent extremism will be caught and prosecuted.”
