Wicked killer Andrew Griggs hit with fresh charges decades after murdering pregnant wife Debbie
25-year-old murder case takes shocking twist
Andrew Griggs, already serving a life sentence for murdering his pregnant wife Debbie back in 1999, has now been slapped with new criminal charges. The Kent man faces accusations of perverting the course of justice and obstructing a coroner’s work following shocking new developments.
Body found 23 years later sparks fresh legal battle
Debbie Griggs, 34, disappeared from their home in Deal, Kent, while pregnant in May 1999. Her husband Andrew initially denied any involvement. But after a cold-case review by Kent Police, Andrew was finally convicted of murder in 2019 – two decades after Debbie vanished.
Then in 2022, Debbie’s remains were uncovered buried in a Dorset garden, opening up a new chapter in the case. Authorities claim Griggs tried to cover up the murder and obstruct the coroner’s investigation.
Griggs faces Medway court next year
Andrew Griggs is due back in front of Medway Magistrates’ Court on 13 February 2025 to answer the fresh charges. The investigation continues as police vow to deliver justice for Debbie and her family, refusing to let this nightmare fade away.
