Ford Transit Van Sparks Massive Arson Hunt

A man has been arrested following a spate of suspicious vehicle fires in Ramsgate overnight.

Kent Police was called to Broad Street at around 10:20pm on Saturday, April 11, after a Ford Transit van was set ablaze.

Fire Spreads Across Multiple Streets

Officers quickly discovered the damage was far worse. Seven more vehicles were found on fire around Marlborough Road and Vale Square, with another four torched in Clarendon Gardens.

18-Year-Old Arrested on Suspicion of Arson

After reviewing CCTV footage, police stopped and arrested an 18-year-old man nearby at about 11:35pm. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Public Help

Superintendent Emma Banks said: “There have been a number of suspicious vehicle fires in Thanet recently. Our detectives are working hard to see if they’re linked.”
