Emergency Crews Race to Scene of Tragedy in East London

Eight ambulances and police officers swarmed to a supported living accommodation in East London after a 15-year-old girl was found in critical condition. Despite frantic efforts to save her, medics ultimately pronounced her dead.

No Crime Detected After Police Probe

Senior Coroner Graeme Irvine told East London Coroner’s Court on September 9 that the Metropolitan Police treated the scene as a potential crime site, gathering evidence and photographing the area. However, a thorough investigation found no signs of foul play.

“The death was referred to a specialist team at the Metropolitan Police Service who treated the scene as a scene of a crime,” said Mr Irvine. “After reviewing all evidence, no criminal activity was found.”

Inquest Set for March 2026

Due to the “unnatural” circumstances surrounding the death, Mr Irvine has ordered a full inquest, provisionally scheduled for March 2026. Both the girl’s family and the supported living accommodation’s proprietors have been made interested parties. The coroner has also requested updates from the Care Quality Commission on any ongoing investigations.
