Man Charged with Murder After Woman Stabbed to Death in Greenwich
Fatal Stabbing Shocks Trafalgar Road
A 29-year-old woman has been fatally stabbed at a home in Greenwich, sparking a major police investigation. Halyna “Lina” Hoisan was found with critical injuries at a residential address on Trafalgar Road, SE10, just after 10:20pm on Wednesday, 27 August. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect in Custody
Metropolitan Police have charged 33-year-old Yurii Muzyka, from Burlington Road, New Malden, with murder. He was formally charged on Friday, 5 September, and has been remanded in custody awaiting court. Muzyka is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 6 September.
Investigation and Police Statement
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the inquiry into this brutal killing. Officers have stressed this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
“Our thoughts remain with the family of Halyna Hoisan at this devastating time. We ask that their privacy is respected as our investigation continues,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. The community remains in shock as police piece together the events leading to this tragic stabbing.
