Hastings Police Nab 2kg of Crack Cocaine in Major Drug Bust

Police in Hastings have dealt a hefty blow to local drug dealers after seizing around 2kg of compressed cocaine. The haul came following a tip-off from the community, leading officers to raid a property on Wilmington Road on 21 April.

Man Arrested Over Massive Cocaine Haul

Thomas Fear, 28, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He faced Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 24 April and was remanded in custody. Fear is due to appear at a crown court hearing, date yet to be confirmed, on 22 May.

Chief Inspector Jay Mendis-Gunasekera called the bust “a significant amount of illegal, dangerous substance taken off the streets.” He warned, “The use and supply of illegal drugs will not be tolerated in Hastings, Rother, or Sussex as a whole.

He added that this operation would have a strong impact on public safety and help slash drug-related crime in the area.
