Man Hospitalised After Brutal Ilford Attack – Two Arrested
Police are hunting witnesses following a violent assault in Ilford that has left a man fighting for his life. The victim, a 33-year-old Latvian, was found injured in Lynton House car park off Ilford High Road at around 7pm on Friday, 24 August.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the man was swiftly taken to an east London hospital. He remains in a critical condition.
Two Lithuanian Men Arrested and Charged
Two men, aged 30 and 33, both Lithuanian nationals, were arrested close to the scene. They have now been charged with serious assault (Section 18 GBH) and appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 August. Both were remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 24 September.
Police say the victim and the accused are believed to be homeless but regularly spent time in the Ilford area.
Investigation Ongoing – Officers Seek Witnesses
Detective Sergeant David Doig of East Area CID said: “Our investigation has found that the victim was assaulted in the car park at Lynton House, off Ilford High Road, at around 17:20hrs on Friday, 24 August.”
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish any motive, however we believe that the victim argued with two males in the area about two hours before the assault.
“Although two men have been charged, I need to hear from anyone with information and in particular anyone who witnessed the assault or the earlier argument.”
