Police Hunt E-Scooter Pervert After Serial Attacks on Hackney Marshes
Detectives have launched a manhunt for a creep targeting lone women at Hackney Marshes. Between March and August 2024, the suspect has been sexually assaulting women by touching them over their clothes.
Series of Attacks Sparks Fear in Community
The latest incident happened on 7 August, with police believing the attacker roams the area on an e-scooter. So far, ten reports of sexual touching have been recorded, stirring alarm among locals who use the popular green space.
Police Step Up Patrols as Investigation Gathers Pace
Detective Constable Lucy Dunwell from Hackney CID said:
“We understand the fear these incidents cause to those who walk and run in the area. Rest assured, we’re working tirelessly to track down this man.”
Officers are teaming up with Hackney Council to boost patrols and reassure residents. They urge anyone visiting Hackney Marshes to stay alert, keep phones charged, and report anything suspicious immediately.
