Baby Found Dead Outside Ipswich Home – One Held, Two on Bail
Detectives are probing the suspicious death of a newborn baby found outside a property in Ipswich. One person remains in custody, while two others have been released on bail as enquiries continue.
Tragic Discovery on Norwich Road
Police were called shortly after 12:35pm on Saturday 9 December to a home on Norwich Road. There, officers discovered the body of the newborn baby outside the premises. Paramedics rushed to the scene but sadly, the baby was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Murder Suspects Questioned as Post-Mortem Scheduled
Two men in their 30s and a teenage girl were arrested on suspicion of murder following initial investigations on Saturday afternoon. A Home Office post-mortem is set for Tuesday 12 December to determine the exact cause of death.
Yesterday, Ipswich Magistrates’ Court granted police an extra 21 hours to question the male suspects. Both men have since been released on bail until 6 February. The teenage female suspect remains in custody for further questioning, having arrived at the police centre later.
Community Left on Edge as Police Maintain Presence
A small police scene is still in place at the Norwich Road property. Detectives treat the case as an isolated incident but understand concerns in the local community.
Residents will continue to see a heightened police presence, including uniformed officers. The force encourages the public to approach officers with any worries or information that might help the investigation.
