Joshua Perry, 28, from Southampton, has been handed an indefinite hospital order with restrictions after killing his father. Perry pleaded guilty to manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility at Winchester Crown Court on Friday, 10 July.

Victim Found Strangled in Southampton Flat

The tragic case unfolded after John Perry, 70, was found dead in a flat on Bursledon Road, Southampton, on Wednesday, 5 February. The court revealed John died from strangulation inflicted by his son.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Lee McClellan, said: “This has been an extremely sad and distressing case for the family and I would like to commend them for the strength they have shown throughout this investigation.
