Baby Elsa Found Abandoned in Boots Bag Set for Adoption

A heartwarming twist in East London as baby Elsa, discovered abandoned in a Boots shopping bag, is set to be adopted by her loving foster family. The judge’s verdict secures a brighter future for the newborn.

Baby Elsa’s Chilling Discovery

January 2024, Newham: A dog walker made a grim discovery at the freezing corner of Greenway and High Street South, East Ham. Wrapped in a towel inside a reusable Boots bag, baby Elsa was found just an hour old. Hospital staff named her Elsa, inspired by the icy conditions at the scene.

The shocking find wasn’t isolated — Elsa is the third sibling abandoned nearby. Brothers Harry and Roman were left in similar circumstances in 2017 and 2019. Police confirmed all three children are related, deepening the mystery.

Judge Praises Elsa’s Spirit, Backs Adoption

At East London Family Court, Judge Carol Atkinson praised Elsa’s bright and lively nature. She described the baby as “a raucous bundle of excitement and laughter” who “lights up the space around her.”

“Elsa is a beautiful little girl. She is happy and settled in her new family, as yet unaware of how she differs from other children,” the judge said. “Her best chance in life comes with a permanent placement in an alternative family.”

Reflecting on the sibling’s unique bond, Judge Atkinson added:

“These siblings share something quite extraordinary. No one they meet is likely to understand what it is like to be a foundling, but they each know and understand.”

Police Hit Dead End as Mystery Parents Vanish

The Met Police have chased every lead in a detective hunt that spanned years. DNA tests, hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, and a £20,000 reward offered in 2025 led nowhere. The parents remain at large.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford called the case “one of the most unique the force has handled” and urged anyone with new information to come forward.
