Kent Police Treat Vets to Free Christmas Feast in Dartford

Kent Police have stepped up to support retired armed forces members in Dartford this Christmas, handing over a £1,000 donation to fund a festive meal for local veterans. The cash boost came courtesy of the force’s property fund and was presented on November 9, 2024, by Inspector Lee Cheesman and Community Liaison Officer Karen Sandland.

100 Veterans Set to Dine at The Bull

The donation will cover the cost of a Christmas meal for 100 veterans who regularly meet at The Bull pub in Dartford. Thanks to a matching contribution from a club member, the meal costs are completely covered, promising a cheerful celebration for these former servicemen and women.

Police Show Respect and Community Support

“These veterans selflessly served their country when it was needed, and I am really pleased to show our gratitude in this small way,” said Inspector Cheesman. “They are an important part of our community, and I enjoyed meeting them and hearing their inspiring stories.”

During the visit, officers also provided advice on crime, antisocial behaviour, and other community concerns, underlining Kent Police’s ongoing commitment to supporting local veterans.
