Kent Police Heroes Get National Shout-Out
Kent Police’s frontline response officers are in the spotlight this week as the nation salutes their bravery and dedication. The second annual National Response Policing ‘Week of Action’ kicked off on Monday, June 13, 2022, celebrating the officers who rush to the toughest calls—from serious crimes to traffic crashes—to help those in urgent need.
Chiefs Hit the Beat with Frontline Officers
Kent’s top brass have been out on patrol alongside regular response teams, showing their support firsthand. Plus, a full programme of wellbeing sessions is under way, tackling mental health, injury prevention, sleep, nutrition, and exercise to keep officers fit for the frontline grind.
Biggest Police Force in Kent History
By March 2023, Kent will boast 4,145 officers—the largest force in its history. Many new recruits will join the ranks of response officers, backed by Special Constabulary volunteers and specialist teams, all ready to deal with the daily dramas that demand swift action.
Assistant Chief Constable Pays Tribute
“Responding to people in danger and distress is a fundamental responsibility of policing, and our officers display exceptional professionalism and bravery around the clock, often as the last line of support for people in crisis,” said Assistant Chief Constable Peter Ayling.
“Policing is tough – officers face harrowing scenes every day. That’s why recognising their critical work and ensuring the right support is crucial. This week is a prime opportunity for everyone—from within law enforcement and beyond—to say thanks. We couldn’t do it without them.”
