A man accused of ploughing his Ford Galaxy into crowds during Liverpool FC’s Premier League title celebrations now faces a staggering 24 new charges – pushing the total past 30.
Paul Doyle Accused of Deliberate Attack on Fans
Paul Doyle, 53, from Croxteth, Liverpool, allegedly drove into large groups of jubilant fans on May 26, leaving over 130 people injured, including children and babies.
- Initially charged with two counts of wounding with intent
- Two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent
- Two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent
- One count of dangerous driving
23 New Assault Charges Added – Including Against Babies
At 1 Crown Court today, prosecutors slapped Doyle with 23 additional assault charges and one count of affray. Six of these assault charges involve children as young as a six-month-old and a seven-month-old baby.
Doyle appeared via video link from prison and was said to be in tears during the 20-minute hearing. He declined to enter any pleas. The case is adjourned until 4 September, when he is expected to plead.
Police Continue Hunt for Witnesses and Evidence
The investigation is still open, with police urging anyone with video footage or information to come forward to help bring justice for the victims.
