Couple Jailed for Total of 15 Years Over Shocking Child Sex Abuse

A man and woman have been locked up for a combined 15 years after being found guilty of historic child sex offences and cruelty.

Kim Raquet Gets 12 Years for Multiple Child Sex Crimes

Kim Raquet, 61, from Goodlands Vale, Hedge End, was convicted of eight counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecency with a child, stemming from abuse between 1981 and 1993. The court heard Raquet targeted three young children in southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton during this period.

On Thursday, April 8, Raquet was handed a 12-year prison sentence. He was also slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Tina Haynes Sentenced for Child Cruelty and Indecency

Tina Haynes, 57, of Hunts Mead, Sherborne, Dorset, was found guilty of three counts of cruelty to a person under 16 and one count of indecency with a child. She received a three-year prison sentence.

Detective Praises Victims’ Bravery, Urges Others to Speak Out

“I cannot praise the victims enough for the bravery and courage they have shown in reporting what happened,” said Detective Constable Mark Harris from Hampshire Constabulary’s Amberstone team.

“The actions of Raquet and Haynes have had a significant impact on their lives. I hope this sentence helps them move forward. I also want to encourage others who have suffered abuse, no matter when it happened, to come forward. We take allegations extremely seriously and work hard to bring offenders to justice.”
