Man Charged with Murder of PCSO Julia James
Callum Wheeler, 21, from Aylesham, has appeared in court accused of murdering Police Community Support Officer Julia James. He faced Medway Magistrates Court via video link on Tuesday 11 May 2021.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Crown Court Hearing
Wheeler was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday 13 May. Julia, 53, was found dead near Akholt Wood in Snowdown just before 4pm on Tuesday 27 April.
Swift Police Action Led to Arrest and Charge
- The Kent and 1 Serious Crime Directorate arrested Wheeler on Friday 7 May 2021.
- On Monday 10 May, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a murder charge.
