Man Arrested After Brutal Overnight Assault in Bangor

Police have swooped on a 41-year-old man following a savage assault in Bangor’s Fort Road area late Friday, June 7.

Victim Found Unconscious with Severe Head Injury

Officers arrived at the scene around 10:55pm to find a man in his 40s lying unconscious in the street, suffering a serious head wound. Emergency crews rushed to his aid, and he was swiftly taken to hospital. His condition remains critical.

Suspect Held on Attempted Murder and Weapons Charges

A 41-year-old man was arrested nearby shortly after the attack. He faces charges including attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit a serious crime.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Information

Detectives urge anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information to come forward. If you were in the Fort Road area on June 7, call police on 101 quoting reference number 2085 from June 7, 2024.
