Man, 22, Faces Court Over Shocking Stockbridge Sex Attacks
Horrific Sex Assaults Shake Stockbridge Streets
Shashank Kasturi, 22, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today charged with nine terrifying sex offences across Stockbridge and nearby neighbourhoods. The shocking spree kicked off just before 5.30pm on Friday, December 12.
A woman on Fettes Row was grabbed from behind, sexually assaulted, and subjected to vile comments. Barely ten minutes later, another woman walking her dog on Inverleith Row was attacked in a chillingly similar way. Kasturi was then spotted making his way towards Dundas Street.
Victims Targeted in Broad Daylight
The nightmare didn’t stop there. A third victim was assaulted while walking past Stockbridge Church on Saxe Coburg Street. Over the next hours, three more women fell prey to attacks in Dean Bank Lane and Royal Crescent, leaving locals horrified and fearful.
Kasturi Denies Charges, Held in Custody
Kasturi faces one count of coercing presence during sexual activity, two charges of sexual exposure, and six counts of sexual assault. He made no plea when charged and remains in custody, with a court date set within the next eight days.
