A man has been charged with murder following a shocking hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Harlow.

The Fatal Collision

The tragedy unfolded around 5:30pm on Saturday, March 29, when emergency services rushed to a crash on a cycle path off Momples Road. A vehicle struck a man in his 20s from London, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ best efforts.

Suspect Named and Multiple Charges Filed

Essex Police have charged Jeremy Heath, 50, from Ladyshot, Harlow, with murder in connection to the fatal crash. Heath is also facing charges of possessing a bladed article in a public place and robbery. He is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 2.

More Arrests in the Wake of the Incident

  • A 39-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and murder.
  • A 42-year-old Harlow man was also detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both remain in police custody for questioning.
