Jewellery Heist Foiled: Armed Gang Smash and Grab in West London
Ben Wegener, 34, with no fixed address, has been charged following a brazen robbery at a West London jewellers. The Met Police say he faces charges including robbery, dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage, and receiving stolen goods.
Sledgehammer Smash and Grab
Police revealed a gang of men used sledgehammers to smash display cabinets and snatch pricey jewellery. Wegener was caught after members of the public detained him on the spot.
Manhunt Underway for Remaining Thieves
The chase is still on for the other suspects who fled before officers arrived at the scene. Police urge anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
