Tragic Death of Luke Thompson in Pontefract
A shocking incident in Pontefract has claimed the life of 25-year-old Luke Thompson. The local man died in hospital on Wednesday after suffering serious injuries early Sunday, November 19.

Initial reports reveal Thompson was punched by another man, causing him to collapse on Front Street. In a cruel twist, he was then hit by two vehicles – a black Ford Fiesta and a white Seat Ibiza – as they sped away from the town centre.
Major Crime Investigation Underway
The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team now lead the investigation into Luke’s death. Two men, aged 26 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent but have been released on bail. Meanwhile, two younger males, aged 17 and 18, initially arrested over dangerous driving, have also been bailed.
Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle urged, “We need anyone who was near Front Street on the night of November 19 to come forward. This young man has sadly died, and we must get to the bottom of what happened.”
