A brutal street brawl in Glasgow has ended in tragedy with the death of 27-year-old Brian Gough. Justice has now caught up with those responsible as a man has been found guilty of murder.

Kevin Shanley Found Guilty of Murder

Kevin Shanley, 37, was convicted of Brian Gough’s murder at Glasgow High Court on Friday, 30 January 2026. His brother, Kyle Shanley, 28, was also found guilty of assault linked to the same violent incident. Both men are set to be sentenced on Friday, 13 March.

Violent Clash on Saracen Street Ends in Death

The deadly drama played out on Saturday, 18 May 2024, on Saracen Street in Possilpark. Brian Gough was seriously injured during the savage fracas and rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he tragically died soon after arriving.

Police Speak Out

Detective Chief Inspector Laura Young said: “This was a shocking and violent incident and the impact on Brian’s family and friends has been devastating. Both Kevin and Kyle Shanley will now face the consequences of their actions. While no outcome can truly ease the pain of losing Brian, we hope these convictions will bring some comfort to his loved ones.”
