Southport Man Jailed for 21 Years Over Shocking Sexual Attacks
A Southport man has been locked up for 21 years after being found guilty of a string of brutal sexual assaults on three women spanning 15 years, Liverpool Crown Court revealed today.
Paul Wilson Found Guilty of Multiple Rapes
Paul Wilson, 44, from Southbank Road, was convicted of four rapes, two attempted rapes, and assault following a lengthy investigation. He had denied all charges, but evidence presented in a complex case left no doubt about his guilt.
Attacks Spanned 15 Years Across Southport
The court heard Wilson targeted three women—all in their 40s—at separate locations between 2003 and 2018. His savage attacks left a lasting scar on the community.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage and Urge Others to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy slammed Wilson as a “dangerous predator” who preyed on vulnerable women. He praised the victims for their bravery in stepping up.
“Today’s verdict shows our firm commitment to tackling violence against women and girls,” DI Mulcahy said. He encouraged anyone else suffering in silence to speak out, promising full support from specialist officers and Sexual Violence Advocates.
