West Sussex Man Drives 330 Miles to Meet Underage Girl

Lewes Man Caught in Shocking Sting

Robin Mays, 49, from Lewes near Brighton, travelled a staggering 330 miles to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex. But the teen was a decoy set up by the Guardians of the North, a vigilante group targeting online predators.

Wedding Ring Off, Motive Revealed

On his journey, Mays even removed his wedding ring. When questioned, he claimed, “I was in a mess and needed someone.” Police quickly swooped, arresting him upon arrival.

Harsh Sentence for Disturbing Crimes

Mays faced court last Thursday and was slammed with a 12-month prison sentence. He also received 8 weeks for possessing pornographic images—including animal sex abuse—and another 8 weeks for child pornography possession (categories B & C).

The judge imposed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, keeping Mays under tight restrictions long after his release.
