Chatham Man Jailed for Filming Teen’s Sexual Act
A 19-year-old man has been locked up for filming a teenage girl engaged in a sexual act and sharing the footage on social media.
Kristian Petik Busted at Maidstone Crown Court
Kristian Petik, from Chamberlain Road, Chatham, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday 9 May 2019. He admitted to taking one indecent image of a child and distributing it on three separate occasions.
The shocking clip was recorded on 19 March 2018 and then circulated online between 19 and 25 March the same year.
Four Years Behind Bars and Six-Year Sexual Harm Prevention Order
Petik was sentenced to four years in prison and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for six years, restricting his actions post-release.
Police Condemn Petik’s “Appalling Behaviour”
Detective Constable Sanj Tanday of the Missing and Child Exploitation Team said: “Petik thought nothing of recording and sharing this incident via social media. This led to his conviction and he should be thoroughly ashamed of his appalling behaviour.”
“I want to commend the victim for her bravery during the investigation. I hope this verdict offers her some closure now that justice has been served.”
