A 31-year-old homeless man has been handed a 14-year prison sentence after a jury found him guilty of raping a teenage girl. Daniel Bee was convicted at Taunton Crown Court, sitting at North Somerset Courthouse, following a chilling trial that exposed his shocking crimes.
Shocking Crimes Uncovered
In January 2025, police found Bee with the victim inside a caravan. Just a week earlier, officers had discovered her alone in his hotel room. After the brave teenager came forward, the full extent of Bee’s horrific offences was revealed.
Victim’s Heartbreaking Statement
“I feel numb… it all repeats in my head and I want to move on, or at least try, but I’m always brought back to square one. I’m constantly on edge, like what if he finds me and does it again, or worse. I will never look at a man the same way again. He is a vile man. He should be locked up forever.”
Judge Delivers Harsh Sentence
His Honour Judge Climie blasted Bee’s actions as “wholly warped” and sentenced him to 14 years behind bars. The sentence covers 13 years for rape, nine months for stalking, two months for dangerous driving, and one month for breaching bail conditions.
Bee must serve an additional four years on licence and is slapped with a lifelong restraining order. The judge warned: “You pose a significant risk.”
Avon & Somerset Police praised the victim’s courage and pledged to keep protecting vulnerable people from predators like Bee.
