A 25-year-old man “just switched” and unleashed a brutal attack on his on-off girlfriend after a night out. Dominic Bevilacqua launched the vicious assault at his Whittlesey home on November 4 last year.

Sudden Violent Outburst in Whittlesey Home

The victim told the court Bevilacqua lost it without warning. He grabbed her by the hair, dragged her off the bed, and pummeled her face with multiple punches. The savage attack didn’t stop there – he strangled her and landed several brutal kicks before she managed to escape and drive home.

Sentenced to 20 Months in Jail and Given Restraining Order

She sought hospital treatment the next day. Bevilacqua was arrested two days later. At Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, sitting as a Crown Court, he pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation.

The judge hit him with a 20-month prison sentence and slapped on an indefinite restraining order to shield the victim.

“He just switched out of nowhere,” the victim said.
