Tyson Fury’s Cousin Murdered in Brutal Knife Attack – Killer Jailed for Life
Manchester’s Glade of Light has been stained by violence again after 22-year-old Liam O’Pray was sentenced to life with a minimum of 28 years for the savage murder of Rico Burton, cousin to heavyweight champ Tyson Fury. The deadly clash erupted outside a bar in Altrincham’s Goose Green area in the early hours, leaving the community reeling.
Deadly Brawl Outside King Pong Bar
The court heard how a row broke out between O’Pray’s gang and Rico Burton’s family and friends around 3am at the King Pong bar. Armed with a lock knife, O’Pray struck a fatal blow to Burton’s neck, slicing through a key artery and causing a deadly haemorrhage.
Police Praise and Calls to End Knife Crime
Judge Conrad praised officers who rushed to the scene, saving another victim, Mr. Reilly. O’Pray’s past knife conviction raises alarm over recurring knife crime and failures to prevent such tragedies.
Victim’s Family Vow to Fight Knife Crime
Sarah Reilly, mother of the injured teen, thanked police for their efforts and vowed to campaign alongside other families hit by knife violence. “We must stop this now,” she said, calling for tougher enforcement of knife laws to save more lives.
