Pensioner Dies Days After Attack

Mr Mackey, originally from Callan, Co Kilkenny, died in hospital two days later from his injuries. The shocking assault left the vulnerable pensioner helpless and robbed of his life.

Earlier this month, a jury at the Old Bailey found Augustine guilty of murder and robbery. On Friday, he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 23 years behind bars.
